Recently, the Suzhou Science and Technology Bureau published the list of proposed projects to be approved under the 2025 Suzhou Innovation Consortium program, and the Suzhou Special Cable Key Materials R&D Innovation Consortium, led by Jiangsu Zhongli Group Co., Ltd., was successfully selected.

An innovation consortium is led by a leading enterprise and brings together upstream and downstream firms in the industrial chain, renowned universities, research institutions, technology service providers, and financial institutions. These entities jointly adopt a charter, establish a well-defined working mechanism characterized by complementary strengths and clear division of labor, and possess the essential foundations for collaborative innovation—such as high-caliber talent teams, innovation platforms, postdoctoral workstations, and industry‑focused funding. By tackling critical bottlenecks in core technologies, the consortium aims to develop a portfolio of distinctive end‑products and secure a commanding position in the future of technological and industrial advancement.

This innovation consortium is led by Jiangsu Zhongli Group Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Nanjing University of Technology and the Changshu Research Institute of Dalian University of Technology, and brings together 10 member organizations, including enterprises from the industrial chain and technology service providers.

Focusing on the key common‑technology areas that require collaborative breakthroughs within the specialty cable materials industry chain, this effort will prioritize performance upgrades such as enhanced high‑temperature resistance and corrosion resistance to meet the application demands of high‑end sectors like new energy and rail transit. By strategically and rationally organizing R&D projects and fostering coordinated efforts among participating entities, we will strengthen the organic linkages of innovation consortia, inject strong momentum into tackling critical, cross‑cutting technologies, accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological advances, and provide robust scientific and technological support for the city’s high‑quality economic development.
